Somewhere around 1993 I was at the Penn State main campus when I saw a presentation by Silicon Graphics. They were showcasing a bundle of programs that would eventually become Autodesk’s Maya. I knew that this is what I wanted to do. Sadly, as thins were, the cost of the hardware and software were far beyond my means.

Soon after I found an experimental class based on a program called Imagine on the Amiga system. That experience affirmed my love for the field of 3D. Years later, I became involved with a videography company making a sports fishing show for kids. I used this to further my own goals of learning 3D. I studied Maya for a while, but then I learned about Newtek’s Lightwave (much more affordable) and I increased my skills the more I did. I started working as a video editor, for a company that was a retailer of Newtek. During this time I did work for individuals as well as corporate clients.

I started using Blender when they did a revamp of their UI. It wasn’t much different to what I had worked on previously. This software has matured an incredible amount in the past couple of years.  I find that I can express my love for my other interests through this medium.
